Bring your tent and camping gear. We'll provide the setting and a few essentials to make your stay more comfortable.
Cook Over Your Campfire
Each campsite includes a fire ring with a cooking grate and a large picnic table for meals outdoors.
Room to Enjoy the Outdoors
Choose from wooded campsites, creekside clearings and larger sites with space for multiple tents. Every campsite includes at least one graveled tent pad to make setting up camp easier.
Firewood, Water and Trash Disposal
Potable water is available for drinking and cooking. Firewood is available for $10 per bundle and can be purchased in advance to have it waiting at your campsite when you arrive. Alternatively, guests can purchase firewood from our self-service woodshed using the honor system. Woodshed access and payment instructions are available upon request.
A dumpster is conveniently located near the campground entrance for guests to dispose of their trash.
Private Bathrooms & Hot Showers
Our climate-controlled bathhouse features individual, private bathrooms, each with its own hot shower, toilet, sink, spacious vanity and mirror.
All campsites have access to the bathhouse, though from some sites it is more conveniently reached by car. Portable toilets are provided near campsites that are beyond convenient walking distance of the bathhouse.

On-Road Campsites
Accessible by ordinary passenger vehicles—no 4WD required. These sites are all within walking distance of the bathhouse, with no creek crossing required to reach your campsite.

Set right alongside the creek, Brookside is an easily accessible campsite with room for two average-sized tents. Enjoy the water just steps from camp, with the bathhouse a short walk away.

A Host Favorite! With clear creek water wrapping around three sides, Peppers Point is a wonderful spot for families who love spending time in the water. A sandy creek bank invites wading, exploring and rock hunting, while surrounding vegetation provides a little extra privacy. The site is mostly shaded during the warmer months.

Off-Road Campsites
For campers with a capable 4WD vehicle and adequate ground clearance, these campsites are reached by driving across the creek. Enjoy a more tucked-away setting among the trees and along the water. All sites have access to our bathhouse, though most guests will find it more convenient to drive there. Portable toilets are also conveniently located near these campsites.
Dappled Den

Tucked beneath the trees, Dappled Den offers a cozy, shaded setting with filtered sunlight and the creek just a short walk away. It's a lovely choice for campers who enjoy a sheltered woodland campsite without being directly on the water.

Good to Know Before You Go.
Dogs Welcome
We love dogs, and your four-legged friends are welcome at Tanglewood! Please be considerate of other campers, keep your pets on a leash, and always clean up after them.
Sharing the Woods with Wildlife
Tanglewood is home to a variety of wildlife, and you may encounter some of our wild neighbors during your stay. Please observe animals from a distance, never feed wildlife, and keep food and trash securely stored outside of your tent. Hunting is not permitted anywhere on the property.
A Naturally Wooded Setting
Our campsites are nestled among oaks, hickories, chestnuts and walnut trees. During certain times of year, nuts may fall from overhead branches, so please be mindful when choosing where to pitch your tent or park.
The Sounds of the Mountains
Most nights, you'll hear the creek, insects and the sounds of the forest. Occasionally, a distant train whistle can be heard, including during the night. It's one of the sounds of life in our mountain valley.
A Little Outdoor Preparation
Don't forget your bug spray! As with any woodland camping experience, insects are part of nature, especially after rainy weather. A little preparation will help you make the most of your time outdoors.
