The Hilltop Safari Tent is a secluded Off-Road site nestled in the woods across the creek on a completely private knoll. The tent has two zippable rooms, one with a Queen bed and one with a Twin/Full Bunk (All beds have new, enclosed mattresses which we request that you please cover before use). The living area is furnished with a four top table and a counter for storage that also houses a solar generator to power the Keurig coffeemaker, charge phones or run a small fan or heater. Two comfortable arm chairs are provided on the deck steps away from a picnic table and two Adirondack chairs facing a firepit with a cooking grate. This site also has space for an additional tent and up to 3 vehicles (4WD required).
The Creekside Safari Tent has a fabulously long and unobstructed view of the creek. It consists of two zip-able bedrooms- one with a Queen bed and one with a Twin over Full bunkbed- all with new, enclosed mattresses (that we request you please cover before use) and a living space with a table and 4 stools, storage counter with solar generator, Keurig coffee maker and lamp. The porch is furnished with two comfy Adirondack chairs and a picnic table and fire-ring are also provided outside by the creek.

*Max capacity for the tent is 5 but larger groups can booked it in conjunction with its neighbor, Shady Creek View Safari Tent, which can sleep two in 2 twin beds and has space for one additional tent; and/or the Little Log Cabin which sleeps 4 and includes both a full kitchen and bathroom and reliable Wi-Fi.
The brand new, Shady Creek View Safari Tent now sits on what was our most popular primitive site due to the incredible downstream view of the creek. The tent is furnished with two twin beds, a table and two chairs and a banquet providing counter space, storage, a Keurig coffee maker with accoutrement and a solar generator sufficient for powering it, charging mobile phones/tablets and running a fan or heater. It is easily accessible by vehicles of any sort and within close walking distance to water and clean portable toilet (Bathhouse coming 2025!!) The site can accommodate 1 additional average sized tent or can be used in conjunction with its larger next door neighbor, 'Creekside Safari Tent' (Q,F,T,) for larger groups that could benefit from the private proximity.
Cedar Tree Safari Tent is a lovely, quiet spot for a couple or solo camper. The tent is furnished with a Queen Bed, Table & Chairs and a counter with a solar generator, Keurig coffee maker, fan and lamp. The deep covered porch overlooks a lightly wooded meadow and the creek. The site has sufficient space for an additional Lrg/avg sized tent and for larger groups, has been used in conjunction with its closest (but not too close) neighbor, Mountain Glade Safari Tent which sleeps 5 (see below).
Mountain Glade Safari Tent sleeps up to 5 people in three beds (Queen, Full, Twin) and overlooks an ever changing shelf of abundant wildflowers, mayapples or ferns (depending on the time of year) with the creek in the background. There is abundant space for kids and dogs and even to set up an additional tent, park a CamperVan or vehicle with a Roof-Top tent of your own. Solar generator, Keurig coffee-maker, fan and lamps provided inside, Porch Adirondacks, picnic table, and fire-ring with cooking grate provided outdoors and soon to have built in steps down short decline to creek.
*For larger groups, consider using in conjunction with Cedar Tree Safari Tent which has a Queen bed (see above).

*a note on facilities: Tanglewood is growing up fast and our bath-house is under construction now! We anticipate it will be complete by summer '24 but until then, portable toilets are located in convenient locations to all sites and are serviced frequently, a clean water spigot for potable water is located near the main entrance to the property and the creek is crystal clear for bathing with camp-soap!
